My Delusion: Chicago's Female-Fronted Rock Collaboration
My Delusion is a female-fronted, guitar-driven rock band based in Chicago, formed through the collaboration of songwriters Terry Polk and Suzi Finn. The band recorded their debut 4-song EP, Walking Into Black, in 2000 at Studio Chicago, with engineering by Brian Jenson, known for his work with James Iha, Filter, and Collective Soul. The EP features backing vocals by Ted Ansani, formerly of Material Issue, and showcases My Delusion's diverse musical styles.
Following the release of Walking Into Black, My Delusion continued to develop their sound and presence in the Chicago music scene. They completed a demo and planned to return to the studio to record their second CD, aiming to build upon the foundation laid by their debut.
The band's lineup included guitarist Terry Polk, vocalist Suzi Finn, and drummer Mel N. Koly, also known as Shoop. They performed at venues such as Beat Kitchen, contributing to Chicago's vibrant rock landscape.
