Humanish

Band Story
Humanish is a Brazilian rock band formed in May 2009 by Allan Yokohama, Marano, and Fabiano Ferronato. Their vision was to create music that retained the strength of rock guitars while incorporating delicate and subtle sound combinations. Marano transitioned from bass to guitar, a change that became a hallmark of the band's sound.
After several rehearsals, Igor Ribeiro joined as the fourth member. Opting to forgo a traditional bass guitar, the band employed synthesizers and a baritone guitar to produce low tones and textures. This departure from the classic guitar-bass-drum setup allowed Humanish to explore a new universe of elements and sounds, solidifying their unique identity.
Humanish draws inspiration from a desire to traverse different sonic landscapes, aligning with modern musical sensibilities. The band members have built solid careers over the years, sharing stages with prominent Brazilian alternative rock bands at festivals and opening for international acts like Teenage Fanclub, Pixies, Placebo, Weezer, Mercury Rev, The Breeders, and Rubin Steiner.
Their music is characterized by modern, heavy sounds that swing with diverse timbres, evoking seventies atmospheres combined with the distinctive distortion of the 90s and 2000s. Influences include Morphine, Queens of the Stone Age, and Led Zeppelin. A notable feature of the band is the presence of two vocalists, which expands their melodic and interpretative horizons. Their compositions are rich with riffs, psychedelic atmospheres, and poetic lyrics inspired by human emotions. Humanish seamlessly blends fine textures, distortion, synthesizers, horns, and elements of Brazilian percussive music.
The band enlisted renowned producer Carlos Trilha for their album, which received coverage in influential publications such as Rolling Stone, Billboard, and Brazil's main newspaper, O Globo. The album was recognized as one of the best Brazilian rock albums of 2011. Following extensive touring across Brazil, performing at various festivals and venues, Humanish prepared a special edition of their album featuring previously unreleased tracks through the Bolacha Discos label. They also released their first video, "Algum dia na memória," directed by Rodrigo Rigoni.
