Daniel Gray

Band Story
Ever since he was a child, Daniel Gray has been head over heels in love with music. Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana—a city rich in music, art, and culture—Daniel's passion was nurtured by the vibrant energy of the Crescent City. He began performing at just seven years old, a natural-born talent who thrived on stage and in any environment that embraced the performing arts.
Daniel’s journey into music began through local musical theater, writing lyrics, and eventually exploring vocals. Even at the age of 12, he dreamed big, already envisioning a future as a professional musician. During his teenage years, when his parents divorced, Daniel turned to songwriting as a way to cope. What started as an emotional outlet soon became a powerful means of expression. He began not only writing deeply personal lyrics but also performing them, finding his voice and his identity through music.
On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans, changing the course of Daniel’s life forever. Forced to evacuate with his family, they left behind everything they knew. It wasn’t until they were safe and watching the news that the full impact hit—when they saw their own couch floating down the flooded streets, they realized their home would never be the same again.
The experience profoundly affected Daniel. He began writing extensively about the storm and its emotional aftermath. Determined to move forward, he relocated to Savannah, Georgia, and enrolled at the Savannah College of Art and Design. After a year, however, he realized that his true calling remained in music. Fate stepped in when he met a group of creatives from New Jersey, and soon after, Daniel made the big move north, where he currently resides.
Now 22, Daniel has completed his first official album, Invictus—Latin for “unconquerable.” Produced by multi-platinum producer and engineer Mark Berry, the album falls into the Dance/Pop genre and showcases Daniel’s wide-ranging influences. From high-energy tracks like “Lost & Found,” “Automatic,” and “Bombastic,” to emotional ballads like “Cast Away”—a powerful reflection on the pain and resilience of post-Katrina New Orleans—Invictus is a bold mix of pop, dance, ballads, and rock. Daniel affectionately calls it his “spoiled brat” album, because he wanted to incorporate every genre he loves into one project. The result is a celebration of spontaneity and emotional truth.
Daniel cites Prince and Michael Jackson as two of his greatest musical inspirations, while Britney Spears and Janet Jackson have shaped his performance style. A born entertainer, Daniel lives for the stage.
Never one to be confined to a single role, Daniel wears many creative hats. He owns and operates Stryker Brown Entertainment, a production company that began as a publishing outlet for his lyrics and has since evolved into a full-fledged record label, talent agency, and fashion-forward media brand. He is also developing a collaborative web series—an edgy, youth-focused political talk show in the spirit of The View, produced under the Stryker Brown banner.
Currently, Daniel is hard at work on his second album, due for release next year.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Daniel is a passionate advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. He credits the community for its ongoing support of his career and is committed to giving back through his music and activism. “I was always the kid on the playground who stood up for the ones being picked on,” Daniel says. “And right now, the LGBTQ+ community is being picked on by America. I want to help them stand up for their rights—and I do that in the best way I know how: through music.”
