The winter of '07 proved to be fruitful after all. It was a magically frozen time in which Matt Walsh and Leah Al-Uqdah decided to form, OFF THE RADAR. While avoiding frostbite, they worked to build a bridge between Walsh's powerful bass driven style, and Leah's classically inspired progressive guitar rhythms. After a few songs were written, spring arrived at last, they searched for a drummer, and found Maccabee Kelem. Satisfied, they started off a 3-piece with Leah's sweetly chaotic voice to mesh it all together, or so it seemed... Once they heard Mac's solo project, they realized his creative and unique vocal style, mixed with his shockwave of intense guitarwork was exactly what was needed to be the unique band they had ALL dreamed of. After finding precision drummer Ryan Miera, everything was in place, and they started gigging. In their short career, they have played fine establishments around Chicago like Underground Lounge and Double Door. It's no surprise OFF THE RADAR has been received so well by the Chicago music scene that has been notorious for giving birth to some very unique and talented ensembles. They're music has even been compared to 'Smashing Pumpkins', 'Mazzy Star', 'No Doubt', and even 'The Beatles'.
