Voice Of Addiction is a politically charged band based in Chicago, determined to spark awareness through the raw power of rock, punk, and ska. Their mission is clear and uncompromising: to open the eyes of audiences worldwide to the injustices that plague our communities and the globe.
Changing the world individually is a monumental task — one nearly impossible alone. True change only comes through cooperation and collective determination. V.O.A. doesn’t claim they can change the world single-handedly. Instead, they aim to work with others to make a lasting impact, no matter how small the dent may be.
Musically, Voice Of Addiction fuses punk ethos and attitude with the driving force of rock and the infectious grooves of ska breakdowns. Their message is embedded right in their name. As vocalist and bassist Ian Tomele puts it:
"Everyone is addicted, whether it be to drugs, alcohol, religion, sex, money, etc. Our job is to be the voice that brings these issues to the table — issues that might otherwise be overlooked. We're not here to reinvent the wheel; we're here to dismantle it!"
