Eleventh Hour Messengers: Awakening Hearts with Harmony and Grace

With the release of their 2010 debut album Wake to Grace, EHM Eleventh Hour Messengersannounced themselves not only as gifted musicians, but as soulful storytellers on a mission to stir spiritual renewal through sound. The album is more than just a collection of faith-inspired tracks—it’s a deeply personal journey etched in years of growth, trials, healing, and divine restoration. The heart of the band beats strongest in the partnership of Shauni and Grant Williams, a couple whose lives have been tested and transformed, now using music as their ministry.

Shauni’s story begins in the small town of Los Molinos, California, where gospel music often spilled from a humble home on Second Avenue. At just eight years old, Shauni was already electrifying audiences as part of The Ron Greenlaw Family gospel music ministry. Her hands, too small to reach octaves or pedals, danced across the keys with a passion that belied her size. Her father built her a special platform and she wore high heels just to keep up with the instrument she commanded with fiery grace. By 1985, her talent led her to win a national talent competition as Miss California National Teen-Ager, stunning judges with an excerpt of Grieg’s Concerto Op. 16 in Atlanta. But even such bright lights couldn't prevent the dark chapters that followed—a violent crime that nearly derailed her spiritual and musical calling.

Meanwhile, Grant Williams, a gifted lyricist and theologian, was carving his own path from a troubled upbringing into the world of ministry. Despite growing up in a non-believing home, Grant felt the stirrings of a spiritual calling early in life. That calling eventually led him to a Nazarene college in Idaho, where it began to take shape. It was during this time that he and Shauni—now married for over 23 years and parents to two adult children—began collaborating musically. Their years in ministry and worship leadership at a Nazarene Church gave them the spiritual grounding and creative spark needed to launch EHM.

Their early work bore fruit quickly. In 2010, EHM released three significant projects: their Pre-Release EP, the full-length Wake to Grace, and the seasonal single A Christmas Tune. The band earned industry recognition almost immediately, becoming semi-finalists for Song of the Year, nominated for the Hollywood Music in Media Awards, and featured in platforms like Itickets, Christian Frontline Magazine, and IAM Entertainment Magazine. Their track “Mercy Again” was picked up by Indie Ignite Conference for radio compilation, and the duo was selected from thousands to attend The Objective artist development week by Extreme Tour 2011.

What sets EHM apart isn't just musicianship—it’s authenticity. Tracks like “Wake to Grace” and “Mercy Again” are born not from a desire to entertain but to heal and inspire. Their music feels lived-in, rooted in decades of hardship, healing, and spiritual awakening. And with Bruce Turgon of After Hours Recorders co-producing their early work, and guitarist Rick Hill contributing to all three 2010 releases, EHM crafted a signature sound—organic, emotive, and unshakably honest.

Looking forward, the duo has no plans to slow down. Shauni, whose voice still echoes with the fire of her early performances, is eager to record a new single, “You’re Not Forgotten,” inspired by global suffering and personal loss. “It’s a universal message of comfort,” she says, “for anyone who has lost someone or questioned their worth.” Plans for a music video are in motion, along with more live performances that aim to take their message beyond digital downloads and into the hearts of live audiences.

EHM Eleventh Hour Messengers are not just musicians—they are messengers in the truest sense, carrying a torch of grace, healing, and purpose into a world that sorely needs it. And if Wake to Grace is any indication, the eleventh hour may be their finest yet.
