In an era where digital gloss often overshadows analog grit, Ivory Tower Project is a refreshing blast of real-deal rock & roll. This New York-based collective proudly wears its influences on its sleeve, delivering music for those who crave the soaring choruses, melodic punch, and anthemic vibes of classic rock from the golden era of the '70s and '80s.
The name Ivory Tower Project comes with intention—drawn from Webster’s definition of “ivory tower” as a place of mental withdrawal from reality. But for these musicians, it’s less about retreat and more about reclaiming. Their music is a form of soulful escapism, a sonic sanctuary where emotion, storytelling, and musicianship still matter.
Founded by veteran NYC songwriters Johnny Jace and Mark Regula, the project soon expanded with the addition of guitarist Tony Novarro, whose searing riffs and stage presence helped define the ITP sound. As the band evolved, Regula and Novarro became the creative nucleus, assembling a rotating lineup of some of the finest studio talent in the NY metro area—including Mike Carbone, Ivan Elias, and the legendary Richie Cannata (of Billy Joel’s band fame).
As original members came and went, Ivory Tower Project transitioned from a traditional band into a full-fledged studio powerhouse. The result? A polished, punchy sound that feels timeless yet vital—equal parts nostalgia and now.
Their breakthrough release, Red Hot, dropped on Guerrilla Records and quickly lived up to its name. The EP has received glowing international reviews and airplay on over 380 radio stations across 28 countries.
